Description
First edition, first impression in second issue dust jacket with the five reviews to the lower panel. Originally published in the US in October of the previous year. A 20th century highlight and the basis for the 1970 and 2019 film and TV series adaptations. Original red cloth with lettering to spine in gilt. A little spotting to edges, mainly to the top, encroaching slightly onto a few opening pages with a small previous owner inscription to front endpaper verso. Otherwise very good or better with nice clean cloth boards. The original and unclipped dust jacket has a few very shallow chips to edges with a few isolated instances of rubbing and light soiling to lower panel. A very good example indeed.
