A first edition of Charles Hind's biography of William Turner. Hind was a well-respected art critic and some time editor of the Pall Mall Budget. He took the title of this book from a quote attributed to John Constable: "Turner has some golden visions, glorious and beautiful".  The book has fifty tipped in colour plates of Turner's paintings. Hind first described the impact Turner had on him, through his painting 'the view of Orvieto' and then wrote a biography, whilst giving comment to the paintings that are tipped into the book, in chronological order. an attractive looking and informative book on J.M.W. Turner that is rare due to this copy having its illusive original dust wrapper and box. . Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1910.
